On 20 September 2026, the Association of German Alumni under Royal Patronage (VTD) served as the principal organiser of German Sunday, a special event recreating the atmosphere of a traditional German Biergarten and Oktoberfest, as part of the One Small World, One Shared World festival.
The event formed part of the celebrations marking the 59th anniversary of the founding of the Association, with the generous support of the VTD Advisory Board, Executive Committee, and members, as well as the Association’s partner networks, including the Association of French Alumni under Royal Patronage and the Association of European Alumni under Royal Patronage.
The Association of German Alumni under Royal Patronage extends its profound gratitude to Mr. Nikorn Somsak, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, who presided over the opening ceremony; to Mr. Parinya Thewanaruemitkul, an alumnus of Hannover, and Mr. Nattapon [surname], an alumnus of Göttingen, for their wonderful musical performances and songs, which created a warm, convivial, and joyful atmosphere; to Asst. Prof. Dr. Natsaran Thritsukikun and Asst. Prof. Nattaphon Fueang-aksorn of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University; and to Mr. Sornchai Chattrawiriyachai of Malongdu Theatre.
Their valued participation and generous contributions helped make German Sunday a memorable celebration of Thai-German friendship, cultural exchange, and the enduring bonds shared among alumni and friends of Germany.
